A lot of folks have shared their sentiments and/or wonder if the people who gave Bruno a lift were arrested. Heres my facebook repy. In moments like this, my dad is here with me keeping me in Zen mode! Hes always just around the corner, out of sight like many other special people whove been in my life, and, of course, all the wonderful dogs who shared their lives with me here in the gardens.
The officer was more concerned with securing and returning Bruno who was wandering the streets followed by two people claiming he was a dog they were house sitting, but gave the wrong name....there are a lot of desperate people out there in need of money or even just companionship and Bruno had been well cared for by whoever gave him a ride....there but for fortune is what my dad always used to say....Id say this was a case of opportunity plus impulse, not an organized financial venture dognapping peoples pets...and the 1,384 people who shared Brunos disappearance and the people they shared with gave all of us a happy outcome and raised everyones spirits. A win-win for all of us!!! and for Bruno!

Peace is the goal, dont let life take its toll, from here in the garden repeating the mantra, Keep Calm and Carry On, lol, after all, I am 90%+ British Isles according to 23&Me! And always in mind an expression I learned from a dear friend in Spain, life may be short, (but with peace an kindness) it can become very wide and full of possibility. And Beauty!

BRUNO, Home Sweet Home this morning and sleeping like a baby on our couch right now. Many thanks to all of you for sharing our posts and our special thanks to the Syracuse Police Animal Cruelty & Abuse division for finding our dog on the north side of the City of Syracuse and bringing him home to us back in Marcelllus. Wish wed taken a photo of the special transport van used primarily to carry abused and/or abandoned dogs. We had all 3 of our dogs chipped this afternoon for about $100 total cost with no on-going fees at Marcellus Veterinary Hospital. Everyone there was happy to see Bruno!!! Thank you one and all for my best birthday present ever in all my 77 years! Karen

Bruno is home safe and sound! He was found on the north side of Syracuse and returned by Syracuse Animal Control. He was most defintely taken and a couple was there claiming he was a dog they were house sitting but the officer thought they acted suspiciously and called his dispatcher who gave him our phone number. lol, when he called Bruno by name our dog ran right up to him. Many thanks all your sharing made the difference! ... See MoreSee Less

Still no sign of Bruno. Weve looked in all the places where no one wants to find their missing dog and discovered a deer carcass in the ditch down the road just past our home, Sycamore Hill Gardens
If Bruno had been there, which seems likely, he would happily jump into any car that opened its door. Not ideal, but the happiest thought weve had. Please share our post with friends near and far, if someone did pick Bruno up he could be anywhere!!! Bruno is the White Westie on the right. 315-673-3549 Thank you, Karen & George Hanford 315-673-3549 Marcellus, NY

So many kind words sent to us last night, too many to answer individually but were reading them all and just wanted to say thank you. And share a reply inspired by all of you. We had an old, old friend who often described our dogs as puppies in Paradise. In my mind Ted will always be right here in the gardens, just a bit out of sight. Again, thank you, Karen, George & family.

Today we lost a garden friend of 17 years, our Ted dog. He just didnt wake up this morning. Always a gentelman, even in death, he bowed out without us having to make that hard decision. He fought raccoons, woodchucks, deer, and even Canada Geese to keep the gardens pest free. For dog lovers, he was the kind of dog who lets you go out the door first instead of barging ahead. In short, he was one in a million, and we will miss him the same way we do all of our human friends who have brightened our lives and stood by us. Good dog will never be enought when it comes to Ted.
