Yesterday, Baltimore Woods Nature Center put an unbelievable amount of time and effort into setting everything up in this time of Covid 19, keeping everyone safe so we could open our gardens to the public and fundraise for the Woods. It's something we could never have done without them and we thank the Baltimore Woods; staff and volunteers for their abundance of caution, above and beyond safety measures, and untold hours of hard work!
For all the folks sending inquiring when we will be open again, we have no regular hours. Sycamore Hill Gardens is our home and we only open for charity events. We don't charge the not for profits; it's just our way of giving back to the CNY community. Without their volunteers for parking, etc. we do not have the resources to open our gardens on a regular basis.
Our sincere thanks to Baltimore Woods for helping so many people enjoy the gardens again this year. And thanks so much to all of you for your interest and your kind words! We trust that 2021 will provide many more opportunities for all of you to visit our home, Sycamore Hill Gardens. ... See MoreSee Less

Japanese Anenomes flowering at Sycamore Hill Gardens. These beautiful, but invasive, perennials enjoy shady beds. Growing in height to 3-4 feet they add color and textural contrast to our beds of large hostas. They also work well in flower arrangements, full, leafy stems for height, or cut as single flowers. And, they attract a large variety of pollinators. Carefree! ... See MoreSee Less

Cropping the Maze at Sycamore Hill Gardens. Yes, first thing every morning our Under Gardener goes out to the Maze with his Red Green Show device to give 2,300 Emerald Green Arborvitae a haircut. After 54 years of marriage, I'm hoping this is not the year he wins the Darwin Award as inevitable as it may seem! ... See MoreSee Less
You should give that undergardener guy a raise and the rest of the day off! 😇
I need a machine like that.
He is so invented. We miss y’all! Our house on the island sold too .
We were fascinated by this process when we were there (after my raffle win). I have a video- my husband and I thought his rigged device was brilliant!
Glad you retired the stilts!!
Hey, looking good Under-gardener ,
This is awesome, thanks for sharing!!
I love the maze. I wish the statue set at the center hadn't been altered to satisfy current trends. I feel grateful to have seen the original on several of my maze visits.

Mine bloomed 2 months ago. I do like them.
Invasive! A nightmare to control!!
It looks like my mystery plant. Blue flowers that open in the morning and that close when the sun gets too hot. It doesn't spread it stays where it's planted.
